The California Independent Petroleum Association (CIPA) withdrew a voter referendum challenging California’s oil drilling setback law, according to the Sacramento Bee. SB 1137, which bans drilling within 3,200 feet from homes, schools and businesses, will now take effect. The law was on hold pending voter approval during the 2024 election.
